CIARA'S STORY
Ciara started her formal training as a vocalist at age 12 completing her Royal Conservatory of Music examinations throughout her teens, and going onto study Opera as a performance major at Queen's University, before moving to London England, to study classical acting and performance at The Guildhall School of Music and Drama. After years of traditional vocal study and performing, with a vigorous performing schedule, Ciara found that her voice was experiencing fatigue. While she had always thrived as a performer, she recognized that she had also been "guaranteeing" a perfect performance, and placing too much focus on perfectionism.
In 2007, Ciara sought the guidance of renowned Canadian singer and voice teacher, Fides Krucker. This new mentorship transformed Ciara’s relationship to her voice, to her technique, and to her teaching practice. Ciara has since apprenticed with Ms. Kucker and continues to work with her, as a mentee, colleague and creator. Krucker's EMOTIONALLY INTEGRATED VOICE technique is an essential aspect of Ciara's teaching technique, and Ciara couples this with her experience and training as a professional artist for the past 23 years, and her own expansive knowledge of new earth philosophy, mindfulness practices and her training and study of sound healing techniques and vocal toning.
